Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a natural form of healthcare with its own science, philosophy, and art that relies on the body’s own ability to heal. A chiropractic adjustment encourages the body to regain strength and heal itself. Chiropractic is known for its safety with minimal side effects. It is great in treating infants to elderly. In other words, it is safe and effective for the whole family. Therefore it is a good idea to start chiropractic care at a young age. The earlier one receives and learns the concepts of wellness the greater health one can experience. Chiropractic can be successful in treating common child illnesses like chronic ear infections, TMJ (jaw), scoliosis, allergies, colds, flu, and bed-wetting. For adults it can help with back pain, neck pain, allergies, headaches, cold and flu, and many other conditions. The great thing about chiropractic is you do not need to wait until you have symptoms. You can be treated in order to prevent such issues. We call this preventative and wellness care and it is the best way to fight illness. I know if you give chiropractic a chance it can help you and your love ones build natural resistance and help fight the attacks on the immune system, which in turn keeps you healthy.

Chiropractic and Children

Our nation as a whole is getting sicker and sicker each and every year. Time and time again medication has not proven to be the answers to many childhood illnesses. Why not try a natural less invasive approach with your children. The majority of infants and children need regular adjustments due to difficult births, frequent falls, accidents, and roughhousing. Chiropractic has been shown in aiding children from ear, nose, throat infections, to asthma, anxiety, hyperactivity, poor concentration and many more other illnesses. Chiropractic is unlike any antibiotics or medications it helps build ones natural resistance to current and/or future illnesses. When you take your child to get their regular check-up for ears, eyes, teeth, and well visits; so why not a spinal check-up? It is just as important and vital to their health.

Chiropractic Adjustment

A chiropractic adjustment frees one’s body of a subluxation (abnormal function) allowing the brain and nervous system to function at their peak capacity stimulating homeostasis (balance). With this increase efficiency in the nervous system the body has a surplus of energy left over to be used in other places to promote healing and balance. This encourages one’s body to a greater resistance from disease. One typical question is, “I don’t fell bad or hurt, then why should I go see a chiropractor?” Even if you do not feel sick or hurt it is vital and wise to come for a regular adjustment to keep the body resistant to illness. Most people like yourself do not want to be just symptom free, they want to be relieved from the burdens of life’s pains and experience health. Health is when you are in balance. When you are balanced you are most resistant to illness and disease.

Chiropractic and Acupuncture

A chiropractic adjustment coupled with acupuncture promotes freedom of nerve flow and energy in the spine and surrounding areas by allowing all the body’s nerves to send their appropriate message of balance. The overall combination of Chiropractic, acupuncture, and Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs is a very powerful means for helping you reach your maximal level of health.

Why do I need an Adjustment?

An adjustment is a solution to a problem known as a SUBLUXATION. A subluxation is a well known term used by chiropractors around the world with over 300 different descriptions. It is most commonly defines as an irritation to a nerve caused by altered biomechanics and/or a displacement of a vertebra, which therefore interferes with brain/body interaction. This may lead to the body’s malfunction or disease, which can result in lowered resistance to illness/disease, pain, imbalance, fatigue, and pave the way to chronic illnesses. Subluxations are very common nearly everyone has them, they may be painful or painless (which is most common). Sometimes pain is associated with a subluxation located far from the source of where the subluxation occurs.

Subluxations may be caused by accidents, falls, heavy lifting, or from minor subtle wear and tear like: sitting improperly, favoring one arm or leg too much, repetitive motion, and prolong positions at work. These all have a cumulative effect and cause the spinal bones to give to the stresses placed on the body. Emotional trauma like stress can cause tension in our muscles that support the spinal column, therefore weaken them allowing subluxations to occur as well.

Periodic spinal examination is necessary to locate and correct the vertebral subluxation and should be part of every family’s healthcare routine in order to maintain balance and resistance to illnesses.

What is an Adjustment?

An adjustment is like a re-alignment of the spinal column to correct the subluxation. An adjustment can be helpful in eliminating such things as sinus pressure, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and low back pain in order to maintain balance and health. Regular adjustments keep the communication systems open between the body, brain, nerves, and spinal cord to maintain homeostasis. If this communication is lost then subluxations and disease will follow unless it is properly addressed and treated correctly. The body has the ability to heal itself properly only if the communication system is functioning properly.
